Virtual Mentoring is a 1:1 online mentoring program that pairs eligible children in grades 1 to 8 with a young adult or adult mentor through weekly ZOOM video calls.

​The program leverages the digital platform for maximum learning and skills growth to decrease the achievement gap during the COVID crisis and well beyond.

FEE: $60 per week
for 2 hours of 1:1 virtual mentoring.

​This year because of the flood crisis in Mamaroneck, all families who qualify for a scholarship can participate FREE OF CHARGE. 

What Will My Child Gain From This Program?

​The Virtual Mentoring Program:
  • Connects students in grades 1-8 with a regular 1:1 Virtual Mentor relationship
  • Provides online support to improve the mentee’s skills in digital fluency such as:
    • Organizing the digital learning space for effectiveness
    • Maintaining passwords and other tools (books, notebooks, etc…)
    • Establishing routines
    • Navigating Google Classroom & other District resources
  • Provides connection through a peer or adult mentor relationship
  • Offers content area support for homework, long term projects and/or skills practice

Who Is Eligible For A Virtual Mentor Scholarship?

Eligible families meet at least one of these criteria:
  • Receive free or reduced lunch
  • Are experiencing immediate financial stress
  • Have never had a computer in their home before
